Do the words “treatment plan” make you roll your eyes? Does your team know what a “person-centered” or “recovery-focused” plan is? How did your treatment plans fare during your last survey?
In this module we’ll discuss what it means to be “person-centered” and “recovery-focused” and how to make this the premise of your treatment planning process. We’ll compare and contrast an “old-style” treatment plan written from a medical model perspective to a holistic, person-centered treatment plan developed using the patient’s recovery goals and using the patient’s “voice.” I’ve also included an optional treatment plan writing exercise for your team to use to practice developing a person-centered plan.
